We are now in 2014! It always seems fitting that each new year is ushered in with the celebration of Jesus Christ in Christmas, and now we look forward to what God has in store for us in the new year. Looking back, a lot has happened in 2013. We met new believers, God called some home, we have a new elder, and we enjoyed wonderful fellowship and teaching. Let’s seek God’s face as a church body in 2014. Let’s ask the Lord to grow us, prepare us, and challenge us to be more like Him in this new chapter. I cannot think of a better way to do that than to dedicate a week of prayer and supplication together! I ask that we all attend this upcoming Prayer Week to the best of our ability and apply ourselves to each day’s goals as best as possible. God has been good and merciful to all of us for 2013. In return I ask that we ponder His past mercies as we make our petitions. Remembering God’s goodness is the surest way to pray with the hope that lies within us. Christ is our bridge, and thus we can boldly bring our cares before the Father. Let’s encourage each other to do just that. Thank you in advance for your attendance, beloved! Grace and peace.
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” -Hebrews 4:15-16
