The Orphan Finds Mercy

“In you the orphan finds mercy.” Hosea 14:3

We are excited to host another day for our community of faith to thoughtfully consider God’s desire for his people to care for orphans. We hope to strike your heart and mind with biblical truths, testimonies, and application that will encourage you to care for the orphan. Please don’t be confused – this is not Adoption Sunday, it is Orphan Sunday. Your call to care may be sponsoring a child, assisting a family providing foster care, or volunteering at an orphanage. God has called his people to follow his unwavering, compassionate example to love the fatherless in a variety of ways.

We will be kicking off Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. with two workshops:

1) “Foster Care to Adoption”, with Jason & Janelle Johnson

2) “Adoption and the Role of the Church Family”, with Pastor Bryan Heller

During the morning service we will be honoring a member or family who has been exemplary to our congregation in caring for orphans.

At 6:00 p.m. there will be a discussion panel with three couples who have successfully adopted in different ways. The panel with be composed of Jason & Janelle Johnson, Ryan & Tricia McCammack, and Tim & Heather Allchin.

If you have questions for the panel, please email them to Brady Gott – bradygott@gmail.com. If you can provide goodies for the dessert and coffee time during the evening panel discussion, please contact Katie Leiva.
